In-Year Admissions
IN-YEAR ADMISSIONS
Students currently in Year 7 to Year 11 may apply for a place at KGGS. Parents must complete BOTH the below application forms:
- The In-Year Application Form for Lincolnshire County Council. This can be accessed via the Parent Portal on the Lincolnshire.gov.uk website.

- The KGGS In-Year Application Form. This form can be downloaded from our website below and filled in electronically. Please save a copy of the form and email it back to us. You can also post or deliver a hard copy of the form to KGGS, Sandon Road, Grantham, Lincolnshire NG31 9AU
KGGS Testing Process
On receipt of your application, we will add you to our reserve list. If a place then becomes available, we will contact any student on the reserve list who has not yet taken the in-year test and invite them into school to complete this, so we are able to ensure the reserve list is accurately ranked in accordance with our admissions policy. Any student who has previously qualified, will not need to be retested.
The student who is then first on the reserve list will be offered the place.
If any student decides to appeal, we will offer an assessment date prior to the appeal if eligible.
Year 7 - The school's entrance test is an 11+ assessment produced by GL Assessment for Lincolnshire Grammar Schools and will test the student's verbal reasoning, non-verbal and spatial reasoning abilities. Please refer to our Admissions Policy for students who have previously taken the 11+ test for entry into year 7.
Year groups 8 to 11 - The school's entrance test is an online, age appropriate, Cognitive Ability Test (CAT) produced by GL Assessment and will test the student's verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and spatial reasoning abilities.
The results of these tests will determine whether your daughter has achieved the qualifying standard to be eligible for a place at KGGS.
If your daughter achieves the qualifying standard and the year group is full, she will be eligible to go on our reserve list and you will have the right to appeal. Further details about this process will be available to you at this stage if necessary.
